Video of Throwed Rolls

This is the video of the throwed rolls. Enjoy! We did!

Could it be a glimpse of heaven?

To Kludge, J Crew and my husband, it really might have been. An "All-You-Can-Eat" restaurant, heavy on the pork products and they walk around continually throwing rolls for you to catch! Hot rolls with honey or sorghum to top them off. Jeremy and I went to visit my new little nephew and family. While visiting we went to Lamberts, "Home of the throwed rolls." A definite mid-west heaven!!!!!!! They walk around with "Norms favorite pass arounds." These are big bowls of fried okra, fried potatoes, tomatoes and macaroni, black-eyed peas and more. They come and serve them on your plate or paper towel. This is on top of your already ordered dinner (coming with 2 or 3 sides also) and the hot rolls being continually thrown to you! Jeremy had all-you-can-eat pork steak. I had meatloaf. Yes, it is really all you can eat - finish one plate and they will bring you more of your dinner. It is almost sinful!!!!!!! We had a fun time and wanted to share some pics and a video of the guy throwing rolls. You can see that one came right at my mom. She caught part of it and the video ended because the other part bounced off Jeremy's plate, ending the video. This is really a fun place to eat! There are only two in the U. S. Both in Missouri. A trip we all should take together sometime! A trip to "All-You-Can-Eat" pork heaven!

Lazy, Cool Saturday

Just an update - Jeremy made it in safe and sound. I am glad to have him here!!! We spent today relaxing and enjoying time with family. Please pray for Jeremy as he is preaching tomorrow at the church I attended while living in Missouri. He is excited about having the opportunity to preach. His request was that God's word would be clearly spoken.

The weather has finally cooled off slightly, but enough that you can venture outdoors. We took my parents and brother to a neat coffee house we found about 15 minutes from here. It is a neat place, free wireless internet and great coffee. I enjoyed a caramel latte (sorry JBau - not nonfat).

In addition to the homemade apple butter (which is awesome), mom and I made some homemade blackberry jam and tomorrow or Monday will be making homemade peach jam. I am loving the fact that I will have goodies to bring home and share!

Jeremy and I want to also thank all the PIC group for the way you have made our family, Brian and Esther, feel so at home while we are away! God's family is amazing! You are all wonderful friends and we are so thankful for all of you!

Hopefully in the next day or two we will have some pics to post. Can't wait to share them with you!

Good Times, GREAT Shopping!

Well, while spending the last few days relaxing with friends and family, I have found great enjoyment in doing some shopping with friends, catching the midwest deals! I was hoping to find some good deals here on some work clothes and last night was very exciting. I was at J C Penney and was casually looking through the sale racks. I ended up finding several great things and was doing some quick math in my head to see what I might be spending. My joy came when I saw the receipt. For those who shop at Penney's, you know that at the bottom when you have bought things on sale, it says, "Your savings today is:" Much to my joy, it read, "Your savings for today is: $300.02." And this is completely accurate - I really did save that - how exciting. And I only spent about $50.00. I do realize that I NEVER would have bought those things at those prices, but how GREAT that I was able to at such a low price. It was a blessing to me! Now, I know at this point that most of you who read my blog really aren't excited about this post and may be wondering why you are reading it - my real point and thought was that in every area of my life, God provides. He provided the money to be able to purchase these things and provided me the opportunity to get some good work clothes at prices I could afford. It was a reminder to me that God really does care about every detail of my life and He is my provider!

So, if there is a J C Penney near, you might want to check out the deals. I am off to spend the day with my mom tomorrow - that will be super fun! We will be checking out more deals in the St. Louis area and then picking up my husband who will be joining me in Missouri. I am anxious for him to be here so we can do some visiting with people and vacationing together! Pray for his safe travel tomorrow. Thanks!

Apple Butter!!!!!!

Today after church, my mom, dad, brother and myself went to my grandparents house and picked apples from their apple trees. Then mom and I came home and made homemade apple butter. I am not sure if any of you have had it, but it is wonderful! Nothing like homemade apple butter on a hot bisquit! I will be bringing some back to share with my friends in CA.

Then it was race time - it was a fun time watching the race with my dad. No hot pockets, but we enjoyed the time together and dad enjoyed having his team beat mine today. He is gaining ground - so my team will need to pick things up.

It is still hot, but I am loving seeing family and friends. I can't wait to post some pics for everyone!

Well, just had a moment to post and thought I would let everyone know I arrived safely in Missouri. It was a relatively uneventful flight - not a full flight - which is always nice - more space for a four hour flight. That was a blessing! The bummer was when they announced that the snack packs had not made it on board - so that meant NO food for the entire flight - yikes! I had not eaten since lunch and now would not be getting anything until about 10:00 p.m. Of course the announcement made me even hungrier than I really was.

Humid and hot is the word in Missouri - it is incredible! We all thought last Sunday was hot - not so much. Staying in the car or house is the key. It is great getting to spend some time with my parents, friends and family. Today was a low-key day spent with my mom and friend. Then my family finished the night with a fun card game - Nerts. Tomorrow is race day - I am really excited about getting to watch the race with my dad - we may even have to pick up some Hot Pockets.

I am taking some great pics that I can't wait to share with all of you in CA!!!!! Some Missouri scenery to share with you! I can't post pics on the blog until Jeremy arrives with the cord to hook to the computer - so you can eagerly anticipate those!

Check on Jeremy for me - I miss him and each of you! Off to get some rest - the time difference is throwing me off - it is 11:30, but to me seems only 9:30 p.m. which is fine until I get up tomorrow and it is 7:00 a.m. here but seems like 5:00 a.m. to me. My body will adjust in time to return.

Humidity here I come!

The summer if flying by and I am so excited that I am going to get to spend some time with my family and friends. It will be a fun time with everyone!!!!!!!! I am going to try to post while I am on vacation, but be forgiving if I don't get a ton posted - I will be in "dial-up" land. Know that I will be keeping up with blog reading when I can. I will see everyone soon and will miss you all while I am gone. Guys - be sure to hang out with my husband and keep him company!

A Blast at Family Camp

Last week was a blast at Hartstone Family Camp. I have attached some pictures from camp. Jeremy and I had a great time on the tube/boat ride. I did fall off once - Jeremy - well with the help of Bob, he fell off more than I did! It was a great time to relax and enjoy getting to know other families from the church. Fireworks at Raley's was fun - we hung out in the parking lot for a couple of hours waiting for them to start, but it was a fun time! Just thought I would share some pics from camp. Enjoy!

Auntie Steph

I am so excited to say that I am officially "Aunt Steph!" June 29th, God blessed our family with little Ramsey. My brother and sister-in-law had their first child and first baby to our family. He was 8 lbs. 8 oz., 19 inches and everyone is doing well! God is so good and His mercies are new everyday! I am so looking forward to meeting my new nephew!

Back to Blog World!

We made it back from Family Camp 2006!!!!!! It was a great week of getting to know people and spending time relaxing! Jeremy and I had a super time and enjoyed being together, going to the river, Lake Mendicino and getting to know families in the church better! Thanks for your prayers as we were away! We are hoping more of our friends can head up with us next year! It is amazing what God is doing at Hartstone - the Walkers are a blessing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am back to the world of Blogging and look forward to catching up on everyone's blogs this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!! The laundry calls. With a little help from "Zout," I am hoping to get all of the dirt out. I hope to post some pics this coming week of our adventure.

Off to Camp!

Never in a million years did I think I would "miss" blogging! I am going to miss reading daily posts and hearing what is up. I will have lots to read when I return. We are off to family camp for the week. Please pray that it is a good week of relaxing, fellowship with other members of our church family and a time to listen to all God has to teach us. I can't wait to get to roast marshmallows - nothing like s'mores. I am going to take some peanut butter cups and teach people here how to make GREAT s'mores - use peanut butter cups rather than a chocolate bar. It is a tasty treat - as the peanut butter with the chocolate! Yum!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to catch up when we return.

Kludge - I know it isn't a soup can - I was just more interested in the marshmallow. Maybe Christine just made me skeptical??????????
